Meghan Markle has astonished many by disclosing her method for navigating pregnancy pains. She credits an Ayurvedic doctor, a practitioner of India’s traditional medicine, emphasizing the positive effects of mushrooms.
During a conversation with Hannah Mendoza, the founder of mushroom-based coffee brand Clevr Blends, Markle shared her experiences with certain drinks that alleviated her discomfort. Notably, Prince Harry had mentioned in his memoirs that he began taking mushrooms back in 2016.
“Many individuals hear ‘mushrooms’ and immediately think of a hippie lifestyle or associations with strange experiences. If you’re unaware of adaptogens, it can feel somewhat psychedelic or odd,” Markle discussed in the podcast.
Meghan Markle: “Viewing Food as Health”
“There have always been ingredients in our ecosystem that, whether acknowledged or not, play a role in our health,” she explained, adding that people have started to associate a specific meaning with mushrooms.
“This is merely a trend in wellness. These substances can positively affect how you feel in a safe manner. During my pregnancies, I worked with an Ayurvedic practitioner who emphasized the idea of seeing food as a form of medicine,” she shared.
Both she and Harry openly discuss their experiences; Harry has previously mentioned exploring drug use. Reflecting on his youth, he revealed trying cocaine at 17: “It didn’t have much effect on me. It felt more like a way to fit in, offering a different perspective on life for me.”
“Initially, I used it for fun, but eventually recognized its benefits for me. It has played a crucial role in my life, helping me navigate past traumas and challenges,” Harry noted.
