Megyn Kelly, the former news anchor turned right-wing YouTuber, recently appeared on The Shawn Ryan Show where she spread misinformation about Algerian boxer Imane Khelif. During the Paris 2024 Olympics, Khelif faced intense online harassment due to misconceptions that she was a transgender athlete participating in the boxing competition. It has since been confirmed that she is a biological female, but Kelly continues to promote these false narratives. In addition, she criticized actress Jennifer Aniston and her philanthropic efforts towards women’s causes, dismissing them as insincere. Kelly thrives on causing controversy and publicly calling out individuals on large forums.
During her appearance, Kelly remarked: “What has she said about the woman who had her face smashed in by a man in the boxing ring? Nothing. What about Payton McNabb, who’s dealing with lasting nerve and brain damage from a severe volleyball hit? Zero. How about that girl who lost all her teeth in a field hockey match due to a boy posing as a girl? Zero. So frankly, I am not concerned with her views on JD Vance and the lives of childless women. She pretends to be a champion for women but has never addressed any of these serious issues.”
Imane Khelif’s legal action against defamation and cyberbullying
Following her Gold Medal win at the Olympics, Imane Khelif’s legal representatives initiated a lawsuit, targeting several high-profile figures in the entertainment sector for defamation. Notable mentions include author J.K. Rowling and YouTuber Logan Paul. Although Megyn Kelly might have been a suitable addition to this list, she wasn’t mentioned by Khelif at the time. Regardless, Kelly continues to spread these inaccuracies, and Khelif is justified in her response. Actress Jennifer Aniston was also approached for comments on the situation but chose to remain silent.
