In this video, Khalifa made remarks that many deemed offensive, insinuating that soldiers are essentially “selling their bodies to the government” and cruelly expressing a desire for them to return with PTSD as a way to illustrate the lack of support from the U.S. government. This incident occurs amidst increasing recognition of the importance of mental health assistance for veterans. Meanwhile, Khalifa, who has shifted from her prior career in adult films to being a vocal activist and social media figure, has been actively expressing her support for the Palestinian cause during the ongoing conflict in Gaza and her homeland, Lebanon.

In October, Playboy announced that it had cut ties with Khalifa after her comments following a surprise attack on Israel by Hamas. In a recent discussion with The New York Times, she clarified her stance, identifying herself as ‘anti-Zionist.’
Khalifa elaborated in the NYT interview, stating, “I described the scene as poetic and beautiful because it depicted civilians and children breaking down a fence — it reminded me of the Berlin Wall falling. That’s why I referred to them as ‘freedom fighters,’ as every Palestinian who still has the will to live is a freedom fighter.”
