The recent killing of Brian Thompson, the CEO of United Healthcare, has stunned the nation, prompting an outcry over former adult film actress Mia Khalifa’s reaction to the incident.
Thompson, aged 50, was shot dead in a targeted attack outside of a hotel in midtown Manhattan on Wednesday morning. He succumbed to his injuries after multiple gunshots.
The murder of Thompson is being treated as a deliberate act of violence. Investigators believe the shooter ambushed him from behind as he approached the hotel, firing shots aimed at his back and calves. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch confirmed this assessment.
“This does not seem to be random violence,” Tisch asserted.
The brutal nature of this act has left many reflecting on the loss of a valued leader within the business community.
In an audacious move, however, Mia Khalifa faced backlash for her reactions on social media, which many found distasteful.

“11 years ago, I worked for an insurance defense law firm, and I can undeniably state that the United Healthcare CEO deserved to bleed out in the cold street,” Khalifa tweeted.
This statement appeared to revel in the death of Thompson and was met with severe backlash. While the healthcare sector warrants scrutiny, no individual should face such a brutal end. Khalifa’s remarks, particularly given their timing, were deemed disrespectful and heartless.
The comments made by Khalifa sharply contrast with the grief and honors expressed by those who knew Thompson, igniting a broader discussion on ethical boundaries of free expression and compassion in social media interactions. Many are left questioning whether there should be unspoken lines that must not be crossed, even amidst personal grievances.
