Mexico is set to host the prestigious Miss Universe pageant for the first time in 17 years. The event will take place at the Arena CDMX, located in northern Mexico City.
This year’s 73rd edition of the competition will showcase the beauty of 130 contestants from around the world, all vying for the crown.
Each contestant will navigate through various stages including interviews, regional costuming, evening gown presentations, and the highly anticipated swimsuit segment.
The new queen will take over from Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, the reigning Miss Universe 2023, who will crowning her successor during the ceremony.
In preparation, the 130 representatives have been exploring the cultural heritage of Mexico, visiting iconic destinations like Merida, Guadalajara, and the Teotihuacan pyramids.
Miss Universe 2024 Preliminary Competition Schedule
The Miss Universe 2024 event kick-started on Monday, November 11, engaging 130 contestants in various activities.
The primary preliminary competition is set for Thursday, November 14, featuring the National Costume Show, showcasing costumes that represent each contestant’s home nation.
On this day, the traditional Swimsuit Parade will also occur, which will be crucial for selecting the 25 finalists for the grand finale.
Viewers can watch the preliminaries on the Miss Universe YouTube Channel (accessible to VIP members) or on Telemundo in the US, with the event starting around 8:00 p.m. EST.
On Saturday, November 16, the 12 finalists will be chosen in preparation for the grand finale scheduled for Sunday, November 17.
