Hailey Welch, popularly known as the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl, was seen at the ringside during the boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Perry. However, Nick Kyrgios wasn’t too impressed by her presence.
Welch gained fame after a viral interview last month and leveraged that fame to secure ringside seats for Paul’s victorious fight.
This is not the first time Welch has been in the spotlight since the interview. She was recently seen socializing with Shaquille O’Neal a few weeks ago.
Kyrgios Disapproves
Despite Welch’s growing popularity, Kyrgios did not hold back his criticism of the American’s appearance.
“No connection between fame and actual talent anymore,” he shared on X, accompanied by a laughing emoji.
Rise to Fame for Welch
Following her recognition as the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl, Welch has capitalized on her newfound fame by trademarking hats, t-shirts, and more.
During an interview with Brianna Lapaglia on the ‘Plan Bri Uncut’ podcast, she expressed her desire not to be forever known as the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl.
Welch mentioned receiving offers of up to $600 from fans to spit in a jar and revealed that she had quit her job at a factory.
Regarding her parents’ reaction to her fame, the 21-year-old shared, “They find it amusing…they never anticipate what I might say next.”
