Taylor Swift opens up about her unconventional childhood on a Christmas tree farm

In an unexpected development, Pink has taken the title of Australia’s top-grossing touring artist for 2024, surpassing Taylor Swift’s much-anticipated Eras tour.

Pink’s Summer Carnival tour has shattered records, with over one million tickets sold across 20 completely filled venues around the country, reinforcing her long-lasting appeal in Australia.

P!nk, whose real name is Alecia Moore, launched her Australian tour in February with thrilling shows at Sydney’s Accor Stadium, before continuing to Brisbane and Townsville. Her tour has set a high standard for live performances in the region, with Live Nation Australasia stating that P!nk completed more shows in a single tour than any prior artist.

P!nk’s relationship with Australia has thrived for many years, with the artist expressing deep appreciation for her fans’ unwavering loyalty over the last 20 years. Her 2024 tour has also set a record as the largest for any female artist in Australia.

Facing off against global stars

While P!nk enjoyed great success, Taylor Swift’s Eras tour was also a major draw, attracting more than 600,000 fans. Swift set attendance records, packing 96,000 fans into each of her three Melbourne shows and 83,000 across four Sydney concerts. However, her Sydney shows faced criticism after free tickets were offered at the venue, causing some dissatisfaction among fans.

Additionally, Coldplay made their mark by selling 338,000 tickets during their Australian tour, but neither act could keep pace with P!nk’s remarkable sales.

Despite her successes, there are reports indicating that P!nk felt overlooked by the media during her tour. According to singer Sam Fischer, P!nk expressed feeling overshadowed by Swift’s dominant media presence, even with her own sold-out shows across the nation.

Nonetheless, P!nk’s Summer Carnival tour not only set records but also highlighted her undeniable star appeal and deep-rooted connection with fans in Australia.
