O.J. Simpson, the late former football player, is commemorated in a unique manner; his ashes have been fashioned into jewelry pieces for his offspring.
Malcolm LaVergne, Simpson’s enduring attorney and estate executor, unveiled that following Simpson’s cremation in April, his remains were crafted into personalized jewelry items for his four grown-up children.
The children of Simpson-Arnelle, Jason, Sydney, and Justin-consented to this peculiar tribute, and LaVergne, acting as the executor, granted the necessary authorization.
While the specific type of jewelry remains undisclosed, these pieces commonly feature necklaces or bracelets with small urns or compartments for holding cremated remains.
LaVergne opted out of receiving any jewelry, declaring disinterest, ensuring that the mementos solely belong to Simpson‘s offspring.
The entire procedure, covering cremation, jewelry crafting, and acquiring death certificates, amounted to $4,243.06.
Meanwhile, LaVergne is responsible for selling off the remaining assets of Simpson to settle his significant debts, notably the millions owed to the Goldman family.
The Last Will and Testament
Simpson‘s final will was officially lodged in Clark County, Nevada, on April 12, a mere two days following his demise at 76. The document, signed by Simpson on January 24, appoints LaVergne alongside Simpson‘s son, Justin Simpson, as the next in line executor.
In the will, Simpson instructed the transfer of all his possessions to The Orenthal Simpson Revocable Living Trust.
He also stipulated his final requests regarding his remains, which were attached to the legal paperwork.
The will features a stringent no-contest clause, indicating that any individual attempting to contest or annul the will would be entitled to only $1 instead of their potential inheritance.
LaVergne, representing Simpson since 2009, has voiced his commitment to prevent the Goldman family from receiving any portion of Simpson’s estate.
