Pamela Anderson has been honored as ‘Glamour Global Woman of the Year’ by Glamour Magazine, prompting a deeper look into her journey through life and career.
In her reflections, she points to a key event that led to significant changes for her. This moment occurred during the height of her fame in the mid-90s, when a private intimate video was leaked, leaving her exposed and vulnerable.
This incident was a painful setback for Anderson, leading to “post-traumatic stress,” which was reactivated with the launch of the series ‘Pam & Tommy.’
The explicit recording, filmed by her then-spouse, Tommy Lee, the drummer of Mötley Crüe, quickly circulated globally, impacting her life significantly.
The actress reflected, “I lost my husband, my sanity, my career. I was unaware of the extent of my post-traumatic stress at that time.” She mentioned, “I recognize that I could have navigated many situations differently… In this industry, how you handle your career is essential, but I felt like I was in the Wild West.”
‘Pam & Tommy’ stirred up past trauma
Recently, the streaming service Hulu released a series named Pam & Tommy, which brought back uncomfortable memories for Anderson.
Regarding the series, Pamela stated, “I was never consulted or involved. I had no idea it was being made.” She expressed that the release left her feeling nauseous, describing it as “another punch in the stomach” to see others find her trauma entertaining.
