Santa Claus wasn’t the only one bringing holiday joy this Christmas Eve.
Post Malone, the well-known musician celebrated for his kindness, left behind a transformative $20,000 tip in Houston.
Post Malone’s kindness shines during the holidays
The generous tip from Post Malone was given to Renee Brown, a single mother working at The Railyard, a charming bar located in Houston’s River Oaks area.
Brown, 36, had taken the shift reluctantly, knowing it would be her first Christmas Eve away from her nine-year-old daughter, Iliana.
Looking back on that night, Brown described the experience as a miracle.
“I was overwhelmed behind the bar, away from home, and just knowing they were there made me emotional,” she recalled.
“When I saw the tip, I couldn’t help but start crying.”
Post Malone, who performed on Christmas Day at Beyoncé’s NFL halftime concert at NRG Stadium, visited the bar with friends, including Shaboozey, who also performed at the event.
When regular customers covered Malone’s bill, he asked to be charged just to leave a tip.
“When Austin sought his check, he realized he had none since his friends and regulars paid for his drinks,” said Brown.
“So, he told me to charge him for just a penny or so, which I did. Then I saw his tip—it was $20,000.”
This act was especially significant for Brown.
After a tough year of “losing everything and starting over from scratch” last August, she intended to use the windfall to catch up on rent, save for a long-dreamed business, and finally secure transportation after two years without a car.
“He is truly the most humble and approachable celebrity I’ve ever met,” Brown shared on Instagram.
“He changed my life on Christmas Eve, and I am forever thankful.”
She commended Malone for his kindness and the way he made everyone in the bar feel at ease.
“He probably doesn’t realize how much this has impacted my life,” she added.
