Actor Peter ‘Navy’ Tuiasosopo has sadly passed away at 61, with confirmation from his family on social media. He suffered from complications related to his heart while in Phoenix, Arizona.
Known for his performances in film and television, Navy Tuiasosopo is best remembered for portraying E. Honda in ‘Street Fighter’ and Manumana “the Thin Man” in ‘Necessary Roughness’.
His son, Manoah Peter Tuiasosopo, announced his father’s death on February 9 through a heartfelt post on Facebook.
In his tribute, Manoah expressed deep sorrow and gratitude for the support received, saying: “My father departed this morning at 3:16 a.m. He lived an extraordinary life, and his legacy will forever continue. Though we mourn, we find solace in the belief that he is in heaven with his loved ones and free from pain. His strength, love, and kindness will always stay with us.”
Manoah also shared his appreciation for the outpouring of support and mentioned that details regarding a “Celebration of Life” event will be provided when the family feels ready.

Peter Tuiasosopo was born in San Pedro, California, in 1963 and originally played college football. In 1987, he was selected by the NFL team, Los Angeles Rams, though he never played in a game.
His film career began in 1991, when he took on the role of Manumana “the Thin Man” in the sports comedy ‘Necessary Roughness’, centered around a fictional football squad.
Tuiasosopo gained greater recognition as E. Honda in the 1994 movie ‘Street Fighter’. By 2001, he had transitioned to roles such as a Samoan guard in ‘Fast and Furious’, and he also made notable appearances in the television series ‘NCIS.’
