Romeo Beckham, the son of David and Victoria Beckham, has decided to pursue a career in the fashion world over continuing his football career. Despite receiving a contract offer to stay with Brentford’s reserve team, Romeo has opted to leave the Premier League and explore opportunities in the fashion industry, specifically aiming to become a model for Parisian fashion house Safe Management.
Romeo, 21, has a history in fashion, having been part of a Burberry campaign at the age of two and regularly showcasing his style at high-profile events. This isn’t the first time Romeo has shifted his focus away from football, as he previously transitioned to tennis after being released by Arsenal in 2015.
Transition from football
Romeo Beckham, son of David Beckham, began his football journey in Europe by joining Brentford last year, following his initial experience in the youth academy of Inter Miami.
“I’m very proud and very happy to be here. I came here at first to keep fit during my league break. Then came the opportunity to come on loan here and I’ve never been so excited,” he expressed upon joining Brentford. Romeo had previously played for Arsenal in 2015 and signed with Inter Miami, a Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise owned by his father David. He appeared in 26 matches for the club’s reserve team, scoring two goals and providing 10 assists in the MLS Next Pro league during his final season in the U.S. before joining Brentford B on loan in January 2023.
