Shailene Woodley has opened up about her breakup with Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the New York Jets.
The 32-year-old actress discussed the reasons for their notable split and shared her journey of healing following the end of their relationship.
In a conversation about her new show ‘Three Women’, Woodley revealed that the project was filmed while her relationship with the 40-year-old athlete was ending.
“It’s just a broken heart. A heart that mended and broke again,” she shared with Bustle.
“I kept falling for people who weren’t available. I’m very open and affectionate by nature, but my love is deep and profound,” she explained.
“I’ve learned it’s not my responsibility to fix or heal anything but to nurture the strong love and care I have for others,” she added.
“This understanding has allowed me to move on without needing clarity on why things turned out differently than I wanted,” she reflected.
Woodley Embraces Loving Boundaries
Her current priority is motherhood, and she continues to see herself as a deeply loving person, with other outlets for that affection.
“I used to give my all, even to those who disrespected me. Now, if someone crosses that line, I acknowledge it and wish them well instead,” she expressed. “I simply move on without any interest in conflict.”
