On September 14, Shakira experienced a shocking moment during her performance at LIV Miami when she spotted a man attempting to record beneath her dress while on stage.
A video of this incident went viral, igniting outrage among fans as the singer stormed off the stage in anger after witnessing the behavior.
At first, social media users believed the individual to be a fan of Shakira. However, it was later revealed that he was actually part of Shakira’s team.
During her performance of “Soltera,” when Shakira noticed the recording, she gestured for the man to stop. After he continued, she halted her performance and left the stage in protest.
Who was the man recording?
Sofia Bukele, who oversees Hispanic and Latin American Media Relations, clarified that the person filming was a staff member. She further stated that he was taking footage for official documentation of the event.
“While rumors have suggested it was a fan recording under her skirt, the reality is that it was a team member capturing content from her show at the famous nightclub,” she explained.
Bukele indicated that, despite the incident being dubbed an “awkward moment” on social media, Shakira had actually encouraged her audience to set their phones aside to enjoy the performance.
“The Colombian urged her fans to put their phones down so they could be present and fully relish the unforgettable night,” the statement detailed.
Nonetheless, her irritation remains unexplained, especially as she shared the stage with artists like Danna, Anitta, and Lele Pons, who kept the festivities going until dawn.
Notable attendees included model Winnie Harlow, Kyle Kuzma, and rapper French Montana, who all enjoyed the show.
