The upcoming Tomb Raider project from Amazon MGM is still in the works, despite a prolonged period of silence surrounding its development.
With Phoebe Waller-Bridge at the helm as director and producer, and Sophie Turner stepping into the role of Lara Croft, there were high expectations for the film. However, the lack of updates over the past year raised concerns among fans, leading to fears that the project might face cancellation.
To put fans’ apprehensions to rest, Sophie Turner recently shared a photo depicting her physical transformation for the character, suggesting that development is still actively proceeding. In an interview with Life and Style magazine, Waller-Bridge remarked on the actress’s dedication:
“Sophie is fully committed to her training for this film,” she said, adding, “She is well-prepared for fight scenes, serious stunts, extreme wardrobe choices, and special effects thanks to her experiences in Game of Thrones and X-Men: Dark Phoenix.”
In the photographs, the actress showcases her toned physique in a bikini, reflecting her intense training regimen over the past few months.
While neither she nor the producer have officially confirmed the project’s status, the images have sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many attributing her physical changes to her preparation for taking on the role of Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider film.
