In a touching TikTok clip, the former star of The Hills highlighted Montag’s unforeseen achievement with her 2010 album, Superficial, recently reaching the top spot on iTunes.
The couple’s happiness arrives during a tough period. Just last week, their residence was ravaged by the Los Angeles wildfires, which have left countless residents facing heartbreaking losses. Despite these challenges, they appealed to their supporters to stream and download Superficial, receiving backing from prominent figures like Paris Hilton and Emily Ratajkowski.
By January 12, Montag’s Superficial claimed the top album spot on iTunes in the United States, with its lead single performing better than major artists like ROSÉ and Bruno Mars. This resurgence revived a project that initially saw poor sales, moving only 1,000 copies in its debut week fifteen years ago.
“We put every dollar we made from The Hills into this album,” Pratt, 41, shared in his TikTok, choking back tears as he recalled the sacrifices made to hire elite writers and producers, an investment that once caused them great remorse.
Support request amid LA wildfires
The wildfires in Los Angeles are causing widespread destruction, with firefighters battling the flames for over six days. Over 150,000 individuals have been displaced, and numerous homes have been lost, including the Altadena Community Church. The threat to neighborhoods persists as strong winds could exacerbate the disastrous conditions.
Federal assistance has been activated following President Biden’s disaster declaration for the region. FEMA is offering funds for temporary accommodations, coverage of uninsured property damages, and more recovery services. Families are advised to first reach out to their insurance companies to explore potential support.
With over 24,000 applications for federal aid submitted already, this number is predicted to rise. FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell highlighted the necessity of strengthening resilience against future disasters, urging residents to collaborate with their insurance agents and tap into available programs to restore their homes and lives.
