Taylor Swift unexpectedly joined Travis Kelce at the opening match of the American League Championship Series (ALCS) featuring the New York Yankees against the Cleveland Guardians.
On that day, she shifted her attention from football to baseball, rallying behind a different team than the Chiefs. Many fans speculate that she may have brought the Yankees similar luck to what she provided for Patrick Mahomes’ team.
Taylor played a significant role in the fortunes of Andy Reid’s team last year, supporting them as they secured their second Super Bowl win.
The musician shared in the triumphs and setbacks with Kansas City, and her steadfast support was deemed crucial in helping them achieve another championship.
Now, the Yankees are looking for a similar outcome. Taylor has always shown her loyalty to the New York team, and her presence in the stands seemed to bring them good fortune during the match.
She was even spotted celebrating a home run, although she tried to maintain a cool demeanor since Travis Kelce was, in essence, rooting for the opponents.
Kelce is originally from Westlake, Ohio, and attended Cleveland Heights High School, even throwing the ceremonial first pitch at a Guardians game last July.
Nonetheless, it’s uncertain if he exclusively supports the Guardians, as he also appears to favor the Yankees, so he likely didn’t leave the stadium entirely disheartened.
Yankees lead the series 2-0
At this point, it seems Taylor’s attendance has ‘blessed’ the Yankees, as they emerged victorious in their second game, gaining a strong foothold in the series.
With Aaron Judge leading the charge, the New York team is eager to reclaim their former glory.
It remains to be seen if the couple will attend more games, as their commitments will soon fill their schedules.
Travis will redirect his focus back to the Chiefs following his bye week, while Taylor continues her Eras Tour.
Meanwhile, the Yankees are hopeful that her attendance will keep bringing them luck as they strive to mimic the Chiefs’ achievements.
