Taylor Swift lightheartedly remarked about Brock Purdy, the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, saying he caused her stress during the Super Bowl match against the Kansas City Chiefs as she interacted with a seriously ill child.
On Thursday (December 12), the Eras Tour artist visited Mercy’s Children Hospital in Missouri, focusing on uplifting the spirits of young patients ahead of Christmas.
During her visit, a young Chiefs supporter named Tinley asked Swift if her song “Paper Rings” was inspired by Purdy, to which the singer humorously replied.
“Brock Purdy,” Swift joked. “I mean, I don’t mind Brock Purdy, but he really stressed me out last February. I was quite anxious for a moment.”
This comment refers to Super Bowl LVIII, when Purdy’s team came close to victory, but confusion over overtime rules gave Patrick Mahomes the chance to make the game-winning pass to Mecole Hardman for a 25-22 victory.

Swift was present at the VIP boxes of Allegiant Stadium, having flown back from Japan after performing earlier, to watch Travis Kelce play, later celebrating with him on the field.
The conversation shifted to her partner, as Tinley mentioned her fondness for NFL tight end Kelce, to which Swift enthusiastically agreed, saying, “Me too. That’s a definite yes.”
Upcoming Chiefs Game
The Chiefs’ next game will be on Sunday, December 15, where they will face off against the Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field. The match will air live on CBS Sports starting at 1:00 PM ET / 10:00 AM PT.
As they pursue their 13th win of the season, the Chiefs will compete against a struggling Browns team aiming for their fourth victory this year.
