Travis Kelce is stepping away from the NFL to explore television, making his debut in FX’s Grotesquerie on the episode that aired on October 2. During his appearance, he may have paid a subtle homage to Taylor Swift.
The 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs player has long harbored an interest in acting, landing a role in Ryan Murphy’s latest Halloween film after his successful stint in American Horror Story (2011-present). He showcased his talent by delivering lines seamlessly.
Kelce played a charming nurse who offers to bake for Niecy Nash-Betts’ Detective Lois Tryon. This scene seemed to include a reference to his girlfriend from the Eras Tour.
“You know what I like? Pop-Tarts without the frosting,” Kelce’s character Ed Laclan said, which might connect to Swift’s act of sending Pop-Tarts to the Chiefs during the 2023 NFL season, coinciding with their Super Bowl LVIII victory.
The tight end is scheduled to return to the football field on Monday, October 7, where the Chiefs will face the New Orleans Saints at the Caesars Superdome, kicking off at 20:15 ET/17:15 PT.
