Film producer Harvey Weinstein is currently defending himself from prison. He has recently challenged the sexual misconduct allegations brought forth by actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Rose McGowan in 2017.
Weinstein firmly stated, “They are baseless.” He mentioned being “wrongfully convicted” in 2020 in New York and again in 2022 in Los Angeles, referring to his past actions as “errors”: “I damaged my family and friends. I betrayed my wife, which was a grave error. However, I did not commit those offenses.”
This marks the first video interview since his arrest seven years prior, conducted by conservative podcaster Candace Owens, where he addressed the allegations made by Paltrow and McGowan.
Initially, he dismissed Paltrow’s account as “totally fabricated,” specifically her claim from 2017 that he had invited her to his hotel room, touched her, and suggested a massage after a casting for the film Emma. He acknowledged that he made an advance towards her but denied any physical contact.
