Christina Ricci Willing to Return as Wednesday Addams in Upcoming Season 2 of 'The Addams Family'

Get ready, spooky fans! Netflix has officially announced that “Wednesday” will be returning for a second season. On Jan. 6, the streaming service released a teaser featuring footage of Jenna Ortega, who plays the titular Wednesday, alongside clips from the show and fan events. The video also featured Lady Gaga’s “Bloody Mary” as its soundtrack, which became associated with the show on TikTok.

The show, which was created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, based on cartoonist Charles Addams’s Addams Family concept, has been a runaway hit since its November 2022 debut. It was even the most-watched show on Netflix’s English-language TV series list in January 2023. Plus, it earned two 2023 Golden Globe nominations and a SAG Award nod for Ortega.

Details about “Wednesday” season two are still scarce, but Ortega has expressed her wishes for her character to become darker and more antihero-like in the upcoming season. It’s unclear when exactly the show will return, but it’s likely that most of the cast who made it out of season one alive will return to Nevermore Academy — including Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair and Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay. However, the fate of Christina Ricci’s teacher character, Marilyn Thornhill, remains to be seen.
