Corinna ‘Echo’ Ke Quan: The Wife of Ke Huy Quan

Ke Huy and Echo Quan can proudly say that they owe their relationship to award-winning director Wong Kar Wai. The two met on the set of “2046,” where Echo worked as assistant director alongside the esteemed filmmaker. Wong Kar Wai then suggested that they go on a date and the couple has been together for more than 20 years since. Echo initially had difficulty landing jobs in the entertainment industry after moving to the U.S., but she eventually got the job of translator and Chinese dialogue coach for the film “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” The directors of the film, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, described Echo as the “secret soul” of the project and said they were the lucky ones to have her. Ke Huy often acknowledges his wife’s accomplishments, most recently in his acceptance speech at the Film Independent Spirit Awards where he called her “the most beautiful translator and Chinese dialogue coach in the world.”
