A sequel from the creative mind of Tim Burton is on the horizon, promising to be just as imaginative as its predecessor. Known as “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” or “Beetlejuice 2,” this film will debut at the renowned Venice Film Festival on Opening Night before hitting theaters on September 6th, 2024.

The movie sees the return of Michael Keaton as Betelgeuse and Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz. This time, the narrative follows Lydia’s teenage daughter, Astrid, portrayed by Jenna Ortega. Chaos ensues when Astrid stumbles upon a mysterious town model in the attic, inadvertently reopening the gateway to the Afterlife, leading to Betelgeuse causing havoc in both the living and ghostly realms.

The star-studded cast also features Catherine O’Hara, Monica Bellucci, Justin Theroux, Burn Gorman, and Filipe Cates. Additionally, Willem Dafoe comes on board as a ghost detective and former B-movie action star. With a screenplay by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar and a story crafted by Gough, Millar, and Seth Grahame-Smith, the film ensures a top-tier cinematic experience, backed by a seasoned production team.

The recently unveiled 60-second “Tickets On Sale” trailer teases the upcoming madness, showcasing Betelgeuse humorously singing “Right Here Waiting” and a series of quirky afterlife shenanigans. The film’s mix of dark humor, eccentric characters, and Burton’s gothic style promises a nostalgic yet fresh journey.
