Queen Charlotte and King George's Love Story Teased in New "Bridgerton" Prequel Trailer

Are you ready for more “Bridgerton” content? The latest trailer for the upcoming prequel series, “Queen Charlotte,” has just been released! This second project in the Bridgerton universe is all about the origin story of the gossip-obsessed monarch, played by Golda Rosheuvel in the Netflix original. On February 14th, the streamer released the show’s first teaser, which showed Queen Charlotte and King George fighting for their love, and announced a May release date. Then, on March 23rd, Netflix dropped a full-length trailer for “Queen Charlotte,” which shows Charlotte’s arranged marriage to George, as well as the obstacles that stand in the way of their blossoming love story.

Back in September 2022, Netflix gave fans a first look at the prequel series with India Ria Amarteifio stepping into the royal role of young Queen Charlotte. The streamer first announced plans for “Queen Charlotte” in May 2021, and fans have been eagerly awaiting ever since. In March 2022, shortly after season two of “Bridgerton” landed on Netflix, we got a peek at the cast via an Instagram post shared by the “Bridgerton” account. Adjoa Andoh, Arsema Thomas, and Ruth Gemmell were also listed as new recruits, alongside Corey Mylchreest as a young King George.

“Queen Charlotte” will operate on two timelines: one with Queen Charlotte, King George, Lady Danbury, and Violet as fans have met them in “Bridgerton,” and another with them in their youth as they figure out their lives and reshape British society. Shonda Rhimes serves as showrunner and executive producer of the series. Check out the newest trailer to learn more about “Queen Charlotte” and get ready for its May release date!
