John Owen Lowe and his father, Rob Lowe, are teaming up for a new Netflix comedy series titled “Unstable.” The two created the show together with Victor Fresco and will play a father and son in the series. Rob portrays Ellis Dragon, a biotech scientist who is struggling to get back on track after the death of his wife, while John Owen plays Jackson Dragon, who is finding it difficult to stand out from his father’s shadow. Fred Armisen will also appear as Ellis’s therapist Leslie. The first teaser for the show was released Feb. 3, and the full trailer was released March 2. This isn’t the first time Rob and John Owen have worked together, as John Owen has appeared in his father’s previous TV show “The Grinder” and has been credited as a writer on one of Rob’s other series, “9-1-1: Lone Star.” He also starred in the 2019 Netflix movie “Holiday in the Wild” alongside his dad.

John Owen says he spent a lot of time in his youth keeping his dad “humble” and joked that his father’s ego unchecked would be “honestly dangerous.”
