On November 20, a spectacular event unfolded in Phan Thiet, a beautiful coastal city. Talented participants from around the globe displayed stunning and creative costumes showcasing the cultural heritage of their countries.
The representative from Vietnam, Pham Tuan Ngoc, wore an impressive outfit called the “Thach Long Hoa Khac” or “Carved Dragon,” created by designer Ngo Hai Dang. The design was inspired by Vietnam’s rich tradition of stone carving, featuring a grand dragon that embodied the strength and spirit of the Vietnamese people. Despite the 25-kilogram weight of the costume, Tuan Ngoc walked with confidence and concluded his act with an enchanting fireworks show.
His remarkable presentation earned his costume a spot among the top 20 designs of the night. However, the effort took its toll, and he needed assistance from his team to take off the heavy outfit after collapsing backstage.
The evening was filled with an exciting variety of designs from contestants from different continents, captivating the audience with their artistic expressions.
Participants from Brazil, Canada, the Dominican Republic, and Guadeloupe showcased lively designs that, while spirited, fell short in detail compared to others. Notably, the contestants from the UK and Finland impressed with their sleek, sophisticated attire, radiating masculine appeal. Ireland’s Glenn Williamson portrayed a fierce demigod from local folklore, while competitors from Africa paid tribute to local heroes through rich cultural designs.
The National Costume presentation served as an exciting precursor to the Mr. World 2024 finale, which will occur on November 23, with Miss World 2013 Megan Young and Miss Vietnam Luong Thuy Linh as hosts.
