Minh Duc Temple: A Future Landmark in Quang Ngai Province

Minh Duc Temple in Quang Ngai Province is poised to become a significant cultural and architectural landmark.

Currently under construction, the temple will feature the tallest Quan Am statue in Southeast Asia, measuring 125 meters. It has already attracted many visitors eager to experience its majestic scale and tranquil surroundings.

Upon completion, the temple will serve as a space for spiritual contemplation, offering stunning views and unique architectural elements. It is set to enhance Quang Ngai’s appeal as a top destination for tourists and spiritual seekers.

The temple is a part of the Thien Ma Spiritual and Cultural Complex, which spans about 90 hectares across the communes of Tinh Long and Tinh Khe in Quang Ngai City.

Perched on a 75-meter-high mountain, it is surrounded by the famed “Three Heavenly Mountains” of Quang Ngai: Thien An, Thien But, and Thien Ma.

The project is spearheaded by Venerable Thich Tam Vi, the abbot of Linh Phuoc and Linh An Temples in Lam Dong. It received approval from Quang Ngai Province in late 2017, with an investment surpassing 1 trillion VND.

Construction commenced in early 2020, featuring the remarkable 125-meter-tall Quan Am statue, surpassing similar statues in Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh) and Linh An Temple (Da Lat), which stand at 72 meters and 71 meters respectively. This makes it the tallest Quan Am statue in Southeast Asia and one of the tallest statues globally.

Eager visitors have already made Minh Duc Temple one of the top tourist spots in Quang Ngai, despite its ongoing construction. The temple’s representatives mentioned that large-scale projects are in development, including the 45-meter-high Phat Hoang Tower, Y Phuong Duong, and the Van Phat Forest.
