During the burial ceremony, Permanent member of the Party Secretariat Luong Cuong, who led the Funeral Organizing Committee, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the leaders, former leaders, delegates, and compatriots who paid their respects and bid farewell to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
The honor guards conducted the burial ritual in the presence of Party and State leaders, the General Secretary’s family, and the attending delegates.
Colonel Nguyen Thien Hoc, the Commander of the Military Ceremonial Unit, initiated the burial ceremony for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
The interment ceremony began with the participation of Party and State leaders, former leaders, and the family of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong who placed the initial flowers and soil into the grave.
After traversing different streets for over an hour, the funeral procession carrying the coffin of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong arrived at Mai Dich Cemetery.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s grave is situated to the right of the National Memorial, adjacent to the graves of former General Secretaries Le Kha Phieu and Le Duan, as per Government Decree 105 outlining the criteria for senior officials eligible for burial at Mai Dich Cemetery.
