Miss Earth Vietnam 2025 is introducing a new format where the top four finalists will compete over a month after the grand finale to choose Vietnam’s representative for the Miss Earth international pageant, rather than automatically granting the title to the winner.
At a press conference on May 6, organizers shared important details about the upcoming Miss Earth Vietnam 2025 competition, highlighting significant changes. Notably, the winner will not instantly represent Vietnam at the global Miss Earth pageant.
Phan Duy Khanh, who leads the organizing committee, mentioned that the final four contenders—including the winner and three runners-up—will undergo assessment for a month after the final event to determine the best candidate.
“In the past, many viewers questioned why a runner-up, who seemed more deserving, didn’t get to represent Vietnam internationally. Now, we will select the most fitting individual from the top four,” he explained during the media session.
Le Khanh, a People’s Artist and chairperson of the judging panel, stated: “Judges often find it challenging to navigate between local and international standards. With Miss Earth, our representative must possess beauty, intelligence, and the ability to communicate environmental messages. This extra assessment period enables us to identify the most capable finalist.”
The competition, themed “Beauty Reborn,” will host preliminary rounds in Hanoi on May 15 and in Ho Chi Minh City on May 20. A semifinal night is scheduled for June 22, with the grand finale taking place on June 28 in Hai Phong. The final event will eliminate contestants from 35 to 20, then 8, and ultimately 4.
Additionally, the traditional national costume segment will be replaced by a recycled fashion showcase to highlight environmental awareness. The crowned Miss Earth Vietnam will win a car and will be appointed as the Environmental Ambassador of Hai Phong.
The contest will also initiate various social and environmental endeavors, including constructing homes for low-income families, cleaning residential areas and historical sites in Cat Ba, providing biodegradable trash bins in Le Chan District, and planting 3,000 trees in Thuy Nguyen District.
Miss Earth Vietnam 2025 is part of events commemorating the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong’s liberation and the 2025 Red Flamboyant Flower Festival.
