President Luong Cuong Elevates Can Dinh Tai and Nguyen Hoang Anh to Assistant Roles

President Luong Cuong appoints Can Dinh Tai and Nguyen Hoang Anh as assistants

On January 6, President Luong Cuong officially appointed Can Dinh Tai as an assistant, a position he previously held under the former President.

Similarly, Nguyen Hoang Anh, who also acted as an assistant to the last President, has been selected to support President Luong Cuong as well.

As per Regulation No. 30 by the Politburo, those chosen for assistant roles must meet particular criteria.

The candidates are expected to have relevant expertise and comprehensive knowledge in their respective fields.

Furthermore, they should possess key skills in research, analysis, and information integration, along with the capacity to offer strategic advice and oversee coordination effectively.

To qualify, an individual must hold a director-level position or an equivalent role for at least three years, or have a leadership allowance that matches or exceeds that of a director. In special circumstances, appointments require higher-level clearance.

The regulation clarifies how many assistants can be assigned to top officials. The General Secretary, President, Prime Minister, and Chairperson of the National Assembly can each have up to four assistants. The Standing Member of the Secretariat may have three assistants, while Politburo Members are allowed up to two.

Assistants are tasked with advising and formulating programs and plans related to their leader’s activities.

They are also accountable for researching, analyzing, and consolidating information to provide advice on matters related to their leader’s duties.

Additionally, they may collaborate with relevant parties to prepare documents, speeches, and communications as needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned by their leader.
