Trinh Van Quyet, aside from the Albatross yacht, possessed a range of luxury vehicles like a Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman, a Rolls-Royce Phantom Sacred Fire valued at VND50 billion, and a gold-plated Rolls-Royce Ghost.
The Albatross yacht, unsuccessful in seven auctions, got seized by BIDV Quy Nhơn to recoup debts. Initially offered at VND36 billion in November 2022, its starting price got slashed by Minh Phap Auction JSC to VND23.294 billion in January 2024 for the seventh attempt, VND13 billion below the original price. However, the yacht remained unsold.
Minh Phap Auction disclosed to VietNamNet that they terminated the auction contract with BIDV Quy Nhơn, meaning Minh Phap ceased to be the auction organizer while BIDV Quy Nhơn stayed mum about finding a partner for asset liquidation.
FLC Group’s Albatross could accommodate 12 individuals, a Galeon 660 Fly boat constructed in Poland in 2017, measuring 16.62 meters in length by 4.88 meters in width, with four bedrooms.
Quyet, recognized for his luxury cars, had an S600 Pullman imported in 2019 (2017 model), the second of its kind to arrive at Vietnamese ports. Although Quyet frequently used the vehicle, its current status remains undisclosed.
In contrast, the two Rolls-Royces garnered attention due to the constant news coverage of their decreasing auction prices.
In July 2023, a car showroom acquired both vehicles in an auction.
The gold-plated Rolls-Royce Ghost found a new owner for an undisclosed amount shortly after the BIDV Quy Nhơn Bank auctioned it off.
During the November 2022 initial auction, the Rolls-Royce Ghost was listed at VND10 billion. It was eventually sold in the sixth auction starting at VND8.57 billion.
Conversely, the Rolls-Royce Phantom Sacred Fire, imported for VND50 billion, was auctioned starting at just VND25 billion. It got sold during the seventh auction with an initial price of VND16.6 billion.
