Three generations of musical excellence in Vietnam’s renowned family

Truong Ngoc Ninh, a musician born in 1943, started his musical journey with the Military Art Troupe and later pursued formal education at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. He performed during the Vietnam War, drawing inspiration for his compositions.

After his studies, he dedicated himself to composing and directing music for various organizations. His repertoire includes chamber music pieces like “Variations on the Da River” and popular songs such as “Spring Rain” and “Going to the Market.”

Ninh evolved his music style in the ’90s, incorporating modern melodies in songs like “October in Hanoi” and “Thirsty Sea.” He also managed music groups like Dong Doi and produced hits for them.

Besides his work with the Anh Em band, Anh Quan significantly influenced My Linh’s career path. Their daughter, My Anh, made her mark in music by participating in renowned music festivals and reality shows, continuing the family’s musical lineage.

Even at 81, Truong Ngoc Ninh remains dedicated to music and family, with three generations involved in the music industry. He looks forward to seeing his granddaughter, My Anh, flourish and gain recognition in the music world.
