The Ministry of Public Security has mobilized specialized teams to work alongside the Provincial Police in Nam Dinh in response to a severe car accident that occurred in the area.
At around 3:00 PM on January 30, 2025, a seven-passenger vehicle lost control on National Highway 21 near Km153+500 in Nam Van Ward, Nam Dinh City. The driver, Nguyen Thi Dung, aged 64 and from Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, crashed into a barrier and fell into a nearby canal.
This incident tragically resulted in seven deaths and left two individuals injured.
The victims identified include the driver Nguyen Thi Dung, her husband Nguyen Duc Chinh (67), their daughter Nguyen Ngoc Anh (36), and their grandchild Tran Ngoc Minh Khue (6).
Other deceased individuals were Nguyen Van Tien (37, from Thanh Oai, Hanoi), a woman named Dung (32), and a baby named Nguyen Quang Minh (less than a year old).
The injured parties are Nguyen Ngoc Quynh (32, daughter of Nguyen Thi Dung) and Nguyen Ngoc Diep (10).
Following the incident, the Ministry of Public Security swiftly ordered teams to collaborate with local police to provide rescue services, investigate the accident’s cause, and manage the aftermath.
Authorities will also work with local agencies to support the families of the victims and maintain public safety and order in the area.
