Achieving a Guinness World Record, Vietnamese expatriate Sky Le completed a 40,000 km journey, collecting 7,000 signatures on his car. Sky Le, a hair stylist, initiated this record-breaking journey as part of Sky’s World Tour to inspire others and raise funds for a pediatric cancer support fund.
In Galveston, Texas, USA, Sky Le was officially acknowledged by Guinness World Records for possessing the car with the highest number of signatures. Traveling for 330 days, covering 40,000 km, he engaged with 70,000 individuals and gathered 7,000 signatures successfully.
Stringent requirements by Guinness World Records included collecting signatures in public places with many passersby, documenting on video, and gathering personal information of the signatories.
Sky Le found the most challenging aspect to be persuading strangers to provide their personal information. He described his project in detail to each person, sharing his message of perseverance and surpassing personal boundaries to achieve new heights. Sky Le believes his sincerity played a key role in garnering support worldwide.
During the journey, Sky Le encountered various noteworthy individuals, creating lasting memories. The 7,000 signatures included those of prominent figures like Nick Diaz, a renowned UFC fighter; Ted Drewes, owner of a well-known ice cream brand; Muay Thai athlete Melech Tezedek; artist Dean Foster; and record holder Michael Jenkins.
A significant moment arose when two joggers inquired about the signatures on Sky Le’s car. Post explanation, they signed the car, with one of them recognizing the “Nick Diaz” signature, leading to a surprising realization for Sky Le.
Sky Le further shared, “Every individual’s path in life may vary, but perseverance is crucial for success. My encounter with Nick Diaz made me prouder of the ‘car of hope’ – a vessel holding not only signatures but also stories and lessons from extraordinary people.”
Embarking on his Sky’s World Tour, where he offers free haircuts and fundraises, Sky Le intends to raise $20,000 for a pediatric cancer support fund. Already collecting $3,770 from his encounters during the journey, Sky Le stresses the value of charitable work in making life more meaningful.
Born as Le Tran Tuan in 1987 in Quy Nhon, Vietnam, Sky Le relocated to the United States at 16. Learning hairstyling from the renowned Donnal Chung, he proceeded to work as a hair stylist, owning a successful hair studio in Missouri before deciding to pursue his dream of traveling and offering free haircuts.
