Vietnamese marksmen Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy achieved victory in the 10m air pistol mixed team competition at the 2025 Asian Shooting Cup after a thrilling comeback against their rivals from Indonesia.

On February 12, the final event of the 10m air pistol mixed team category unfolded. Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy, who led the qualification rounds, faced off against the Indonesian team comprised of Darmoyo and Prabowa, who ranked second in the preliminaries.
The Vietnamese team initially struggled, falling behind 0-10 after the first five rounds. A pivotal moment arrived when coach Tran Quoc Cuong called a timeout, which allowed the team to reset and regain focus.
Following the timeout, they mounted a stunning comeback, equalizing the score at 10-10 thanks to an outstanding ninth round where they scored a total of 21.3 points (with Thu Vinh at 10.6 and Quang Huy at 10.7).
As the defending champions, Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy showcased their skill and precision during critical moments, finishing the match with a 17-13 win to secure the gold medal.
This victory marks their second consecutive Asian title, having previously clinched gold at the 2024 Asian Shooting Championship, further establishing them as elite shooters from Vietnam.
The 2025 Asian Shooting Cup includes over 280 competitors from 22 countries and regions, participating in various individual and team events for both rifle and air pistol disciplines. Vietnam is represented by an 18-member team in the competition.
