Col. Uche Nnabuihe announced that 594 repentant Boko Haram members have graduated from the Federal Government’s Operation Safe Corridor’s De-radicalisation, Rehabilitation and Reintegration camp in Malam Sidi, Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State. Of these, 590 are Nigerians and four are foreigners – three Nigeriens and one Chadian. Additionally, 588 are Muslims and six are Christians. The graduates come from 15 states, including Adamawa, Borno, Yobe, Kano, Gombe, Kaduna, Kogi, Bauchi, Jigawa, Katsina, Kebbi, Nasarawa, Plateau and Zamfara. Upon arrival at the camp, they underwent physical and medical tests by a team of medical experts from the camp clinic and the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe. The tests were conducted to assess the health status of the clients and provide proper care during the DRR training cycle. During the program, they were trained in various skills such as barbering, shoemaking, welding, tailoring, carpentry and laundry services. They also participated in integrated farming activities which included agro, poultry and fish farming.
