A former National Vice Chairman of the APC, Salihu Lukman, has urged 2023 presidential candidates such as Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, Nasir El-Rufai, and Yemi Osinbajo to unite against President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Lukman highlighted the need for political leaders like Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso, Osinbajo, and others to come together as there is currently a state of ‘state capture’ at the federal level with leaders operating in isolation.
In his statement, Lukman indicated the importance of these leaders transcending their narrow political ambitions to forge a united front that can enhance Nigeria’s democracy and combat ‘state capture’ by small corrupt groups influencing government decisions for personal gain.
He emphasized the necessity for strong political parties to challenge the APC and Tinubu, drawing attention to the failings of the PDP and how the challenges faced today under the APC surpass those encountered in the past.
