In the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood, Abidemi Adisa, a talented actress of Yoruba descent, sheds light on the prevalent issue of “s*x-for-role” that has driven many skilled actors away from the industry.

Adisa acknowledges the existence of this phenomenon, not confined to actresses but also affecting men in the industry. Despite this challenge, she asserts her own integrity, stating that she has never been pressured into compromising situations for a role due to her lack of desperation for fame.

Driven by her passion for acting, Adisa recognizes the power of great actors in bringing roles to life and convincing audiences of their authenticity. She credits this influence for her decision to pursue acting as a career.

Under the mentorship of veteran actor Saidi Balogun, Adisa honed her acting skills and appeared in various movie productions like Violence, Bisola Peperenpe, Tani, and others. She has also ventured into producing her own films, including Ota, Ojiji Ife, and Bidemi Jagba series.

Currently, Adisa is actively working on a new project titled “Iku Ore,” a story centered around a woman who selflessly serves her friend but neglects her own well-being. The project encompasses filming locations in the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
