Governor Ahmadu Fintiri
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State expressed grave concerns over the current economic situation in Nigeria, criticizing the ineffective policies of the Tinubu administration.
He pointed out that these policies have led to significant suffering among Nigerians.
His comments were made during a meeting with the National Reconciliation Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alongside governors from the North East and other significant figures in Bauchi.
Fintiri conveyed his discontent regarding the national economy, declaring, “Nigeria is in pain, we are enduring too much anger brought on by failing economic policies.
“For this reason, we urge the Federal Government to revisit these economic strategies that are causing hardship for our citizens.”
He emphasized that holding a governmental position is a privilege that carries the responsibility to lead with trust and respect.
Fintiri urged the Federal Government to implement policies that alleviate, rather than exacerbate the suffering of Nigerians.
“Our nation belongs to us all, not to the World Bank, IMF, or any foreign entities,” he stated.
Additionally, during the assembly, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the Chairman of the National Reconciliation Committee, recognized the elements that contributed to the party’s recent electoral defeat.
He highlighted internal disunity within the party as a major factor and reiterated the committee’s commitment to resolving these challenges.
“We are here to engage with the leadership and members of our esteemed party to reflect on our shortcomings that resulted in the recent outcomes,” Oyinlola noted.
