The family of Ifeoma Esther Onyekwelu, a banker tragically killed by suspected kidnappers in Anambra State following a ransom demand, has shared details about her funeral.
Ifeoma was said to be taken captive in Onitsha and held for several days. During this time, her kidnappers contacted her family for ransom.
Reports indicate that an undisclosed sum was paid to the abductors, yet she was not set free.
Her body was later discovered near Ideani Junction on the Nnobi-Alor Road in Idemili South Local Government Area.
“There are suspicions that she might have recognized her captors, which could have led to her being killed to prevent exposure. It’s a tragic loss, leaving the family in deep sorrow,” a source stated.
The final resting place for the deceased will be at her father’s home in Amorji village, Agulu, Anambra State on February 1, 2025.
