President Bola Tinubu
The Yoruba Council of Elders, YCE, has called upon President Bola Tinubu to ease the hardships faced by the people and urged against further exacerbating the situation with the recent petrol price hike nationwide.
In a statement issued by the General Secretary, Oladipo Oyewole, the YCE expressed hope for a positive transformation in the nation but noted the current widespread suffering among the populace.
The YCE emphasized the need for immediate government action to address the challenges faced by Nigerians, particularly in light of the recent increase in fuel prices and the lack of stable electricity supply.
The Elders stressed the importance of prioritizing the well-being of citizens and ensuring that the benefits of democracy are effectively delivered to the grassroots level for a better quality of life.
They highlighted the urgent need for short-term relief measures to alleviate the suffering of the people and urged President Tinubu’s administration to focus on both immediate and long-term strategies for national development.
The YCE underscored the importance of prompt government intervention to improve the living conditions of all Nigerians and restore comfort and harmony across the country, emphasizing the bitter reality of the current state of affairs.
The Elders council called on the Presidency to take swift action to provide relief to all Nigerians and address the pressing needs of the population without delay.
