Some ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movies are available on Disney+, the company’s subscription service

It’s always an adventure when Captain Jack Sparrow is involved. Fans first met this pirate in 2003, with the release of the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, titled The Curse of the Black Pearl. Since then, Disney created multiple sequels to this movie, making it one of the most popular franchises of the company.

Fans may not be able to visit the Disney theme parks at the moment. For some, watching these films is a temporary substitute. These movies were first inspired by the theme park ride, available at Walt Disney World and Disneyland in California. After their release, these films inspired the theme park rides to include characters like Jack Sparrow.

Now, these films will are available for streaming on Disney’s subscription service. Movies in this franchise currently available for binge-watching include the original film, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl in addition to sequels Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

Not every ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movie is available on Disney’s streaming platform

The most recently released movie in the franchise, Dead Men Tell No Tales, was released in theaters during 2017. Unfortunately, this film is still missing from Disney’s streaming platform, and, according to the title page on Disney+’s library, will not be available until December 2020.

That release date is still subject to change, though. The company released a few movies on its subscription service ahead of schedule due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, while other, original television shows have since been pushed back. In the meantime, Pirates of the Caribbean fans can watch movies like Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which became available for streaming during May 2020.

‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ is available on Disney+

Most recently, Disney+ added Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides to their streaming library. This movie, released during 2011, features Captain Jack Sparrow and his former rival Captain Barbossa and a few new faces joining the cast, including characters like Angelica and Blackbeard.

Additionally, the Disney+ original series Prop Culture dedicates one episode to the first movie in this franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. In it, the host goes on an adventure to find some of the props used in the movie. He stumbles upon a model of the Black Pearl and even Jack Sparrow’s hat (which viewers find out was actually made of rubber.)

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is now available on Disney’s streaming platform. To learn more about Disney+ and to subscribe, visit their website.
