Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, has provided an update.

He stated that there are currently no talks between Mr. Peter Obi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar regarding a possible joint ticket for the upcoming 2027 elections.

Tanko made his comments during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time program on Tuesday.

“That matter hasn’t even been raised. There’s a lot of speculation, but no discussions are happening at this time,” he remarked.

He did, however, indicate that discussions are taking place with other political parties and stakeholders who share similar views.

He emphasized that any prospective partnership should prioritize national benefit over the interests of political elites.

Tanko added that the movement’s current goal is to create a diverse coalition based on integrity, inclusion, and commitment to serving the Nigerian populace.

He also mentioned that Obi is prepared to commit to serving a single term if required by any coalition agreement, affirming that he is a man of his word.
