A fire broke out at Radio Nigeria in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday, November 27th.
The blaze ignited around 5:30 p.m., affecting the studio part of the single-story building.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority alerted the public through their official X account, advising drivers to steer clear of the area while emergency crews worked to control the flames.
They stated, “Ikoyi Fire Incident: Radio Nigeria is ablaze, and firefighters are on-site to extinguish the fire.”
Additionally, they mentioned, “All roads in the vicinity have been closed, directing motorists to seek alternate routes.”
Fire crews from Dolphin, Ebute Elefun, and Oba Oniru Fire Stations quickly arrived, alongside assistance from the Federal Fire Service and the Nigeria Police Force, as well as other emergency services.
The reason behind the fire is still not clear, and investigations are currently in progress.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries.
