Joshua Jessa, recently abducted by armed men, has joyously returned home to his family in Abraka, Delta State after a daring escape.
The abduction took place on Wednesday, with Joshua managing to flee from his captors on the evening of November 10, 2024.
Initially, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N50 million, but negotiations led to a reduction of the amount to N6 million, which was scheduled for payment just before Joshua’s escape.
Chief Jessa Harrison was overjoyed at the safe return of his son, who shared the details of his kidnapping by two gunmen who took him into the wilderness.
“God freed my son without any ransom paid,” he stated.
“He managed to escape to Kokori and called me. At first, I thought it was a prank. We quickly went to find him. He later received treatment in Eku before returning home.”
Despite his relief, Jessa voiced his dissatisfaction regarding the police’s slow response to the kidnapping incident.
“I only had my younger brother, who is the Governor’s Security Adviser, and some vigilantes assisting in the search after Joshua called to inform me of his freedom,” he added.
