A Nigerian lady who goes by the identity @beingHauwa on Tiktok, has made a claim about one of her classmates. In a video shared on Tiktok, Hauwa said her classmate who is a Northerner, was always made to return home for holiday by her father, who would then take her to the Gynaecologist to test her virginity.
“Is this Normal?” Hauwa asked in the video she shared. “Why are we being made to return home for holidays like this?”
The lady’s claim comes as a shock to many, as it’s not something that is typically done in Nigeria. It’s also been reported that the practice is becoming more and more common in the country as more and more people are moving to the north.
