On Dec. 6, BTS opened iHeartRadio’s KIIS Jingle Ball in Los Angeles. The Korean group performed three songs to an arena full of BTS fans. For fans who were unable to get a ticket to KIIS Jingle Ball, there may be another chance to watch the performance.
iHeartRadio announced one of the concerts will be broadcast on the CW
When iHeartRadio announced the lineup for the Jingle Ball concerts across the U.S., it was also announced that the New York City concert would be broadcast on the CW.
“Part of the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour presented by Capital One, the stop in New York City will feature incredible performances from superstars including Taylor Swift (it’s also Taylor’s 30th birthday!), Jonas Brothers, Camila Cabello, Halsey, 5 Seconds of Summer, Niall Horan, Lizzo, Dan + Shay, Monsta X, Lewis Capaldi and Fletcher,” reads an article by iHeartRadio.
According to iHeartRadio, only the concert from New York City would be broadcast for fans nationwide.
“To keep the holiday cheer going, fans across the country will be able to watch the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in New York City live on December 13th at 7pm ET via an exclusive livestream on The CW App and CWTV.com. The CW Network will also broadcast the event as a nationwide special on Thursday, December 19th at 8pm ET,” reads the article.
A new advertisement says BTS’s Jingle Ball performance will be broadcast
On Dec. 13, a CW Twitter account local to Michigan shared an advertisement for the Jingle Ball broadcast. The advertisement listed Billie Eilish, the Jonas Brothers, Lizzo, BTS, Swift, and more as the performers for the broadcast.
“The holidays just got happier. Don’t miss @iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball Thursday, December 19th on The CW46! #iHeartJingleBall,” reads the tweet.
Swift, the Jonas Brothers, Cabello, Halsey, 5SOS, Horan, Lizzo, Dan + Shay, Monsta X, Capaldi, and Fletcher were the performers at the Z100 Jingle Ball concert in New York City.
While Eilish and BTS were featured in the advertisement for the broadcast, the artists were part of the lineup at the KIIS Jingle Ball in Los Angeles along with Katy Perry, Sam Smith, Cabello, Halsey, French Montana, Lizzo, and Normani.
Because some of the artists from the New York City and L.A. tour stops overlap, it seems the broadcast on the CW will include acts from both tour stops. If so, this would give BTS fans a chance to watch BTS’s performance.
ARMY trended #BTSxJingleBall during the concert
On Dec. 6, BTS fans trended #BTSxJingleBall on Twitter. The hashtag celebrated the group’s performance which consisted of “MIC Drop,” “Boy With Luv,” and “Make It Right.”
Even though BTS’s performance was only 15 minutes long, the hashtag trended at the No.1 spot on Twitter in the U.S. and worldwide. ARMY in attendance posted fancams on social media, giving BTS fans not in attendance a chance to watch the performance.
If the advertisement is correct and BTS and Eilish’s L.A. performances are included in the broadcast of the Z100 Jingle Ball, ARMY will have another opportunity to watch BTS’s opening set.
