Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has been formally inaugurated as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in a ceremony at the union’s national headquarters in Abuja.
This transition of leadership was achieved by consensus during the Quadrennial Delegate Conference at the union’s Zonal Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun State, with participation from Ogun, Lagos, Ekiti, and Ondo after the position was allotted to this region.
The event witnessed a significant turnout with many supporters accompanying Akinsanya into the national headquarter.
During the ceremony, he was introduced to the National Administrative Council (NAC) and the Central Working Committee (CWC).
The swearing-in was presided over by the union’s Legal Officer, Mercy Ibeh, where Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede and Akeem Adeosun were also sworn in as Vice President, Southwest, and Trustee, respectively.
Akinsanya expressed his heartfelt thanks to the union members and supporters, assuring them that he would adhere to the NURTW constitution and lead the organization towards progress, emphasizing welfare and unity among the members.
“I am committed to leading the union towards greater achievements with the assistance of Allah,” he stated, highlighting his dedication to fostering peace and unity within the members.
