On Wednesday, a group of Boko Haram militants attempted to assault the presidential palace in N’Djamena but were quickly subdued by the Directorate General of Security Services and Internal Exile (DGSSIE).
Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed to insiders that Chadian forces acted promptly to contain the situation, ensuring that order has been restored.
Circumstantial evidence from social media displays footage of the attackers facing gunfire from security personnel, with some being apprehended during the confrontation.
Makama remarked, “Chad’s DGSSIE showcased remarkable capability in neutralizing the threats and safeguarding government entities and important figures.”
Details regarding the number of casualties have yet to be made public by Chadian officials.
There are indications that a few of the assailants were captured alive, which could be crucial for intelligence-gathering in upcoming operations.
In light of the incident, there has been an increase in security measures, including a temporary shutdown of communication networks to minimize the risk of further security breaches.
