Condolences from Buhari to Shettima on the Loss of Mother-in-law

Former President Muhammadu Buhari extends his sympathies to Vice-President Sen Kashim Shettima’s family following the passing of his mother-in-law, Hajiya Maryam Abubakar Albishir.

The sad news of Albishir’s demise at the age of 69 in Kano on Sunday due to prolonged sickness was confirmed in a statement on Monday by the VP’s spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha.

In a message relayed by Garba Shehu, Buhari’s senior special assistant on media and publicity, the ex-president sends his deepest condolences to Shettima, encouraging him to remain resolute during these trying times.

The statement expressed: “Messages of sympathy are pouring in from leaders nationwide for Vice President Kashim Shettima as he mourns the loss of his mother-in-law, Maryam Abubakar Albishir. Former President Muhammadu Buhari took the opportunity of their meeting on Monday in Katsina to convey his heartfelt condolences.”

“The passing of Hajiya Maryam, the Vice President’s wife’s mother, is deeply sorrowful, and Buhari’s thoughts and prayers are with the Vice President and his family during this difficult period.”
